Our University Granted Full Accreditation by YÖKAK for Five Years
Our University has been granted “Full Accreditation” for a period of five years under the Institutional Accreditation Program conducted by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK). Following the conditional accreditation it received in 2024, our University has further strengthened its achievements by securing five-year full accreditation as a result of its ongoing efforts in quality assurance and continuous improvement. This significant achievement once again demonstrates our University’s commitment to operating as a higher education institution in line with international standards, as well as its competence in quality assurance processes at both national and international levels.
Our Rector: “Five-Year Full Accreditation Marks Significant Progress in Our Quality Journey”
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, stated: “Following the conditional accreditation decision granted to the Turkish-German University in 2024, we continued our efforts with determination to further develop our quality assurance system and strengthen our approach to continuous improvement. Being granted full accreditation by YÖKAK is an important outcome of these efforts and of the dedicated contributions of all members of our University. In the coming period, we will continue to work with the same determination to enhance the quality of our education and research activities, strengthen our contribution to society, and continuously improve our quality assurance system.”
Emphasizing that the University’s quality-related activities are carried out with an approach of continuous development extending across all institutional processes, our Rector added: “We regard quality not merely as a requirement of an evaluation process, but as a fundamental principle guiding all of our University’s processes in education, research, societal contribution, and governance. Taking into account the feedback we have received since the monitoring process began in 2022, we have reviewed, developed, and improved our processes. We consider the decision to grant full accreditation not only as formal recognition of the level we have achieved, but also as an important responsibility guiding our future work.”
Our University Becomes One of Five State Universities Established in 2010 to Receive Full Accreditation
According to YÖKAK’s 2026 institutional accreditation data, 93 of Türkiye’s 208 universities have received full accreditation, with 56 of them achieving full accreditation following an interim evaluation. Our University is among the 37 state universities accredited for a five-year period following an interim evaluation.
The fact that our University is one of five state universities to achieve full accreditation among the 14 universities established in 2010 demonstrates the significant progress it has made in leadership, governance and quality, education, research and development, and societal contribution in the 16th year since its establishment.
During the evaluation process conducted by YÖKAK, our University’s activities in the areas of leadership, governance and quality, education, research and development, and societal contribution were comprehensively assessed. Under the coordination of the Quality Management Unit and in collaboration with all academic and administrative units, efforts to further develop quality processes were accelerated, and steps were taken to strengthen participation in quality assurance processes. Through monitoring and improvement activities carried out in education, research and development, societal contribution, and governance, the University aimed to further strengthen its institutional culture of quality.
