"Accessible University" Meeting Held at Our University

The "Accessible University" meeting, organized by our University's Disabled Student Unit, was held on February 18, 2026, in the Conference Hall of the School of Foreign Languages.

Our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, our Director of the School of Foreign Languages ​​Prof. Dr. Leyla Coşan, Marmara University Disabled Student Unit Coordinator Lecturer Zuhal Özgenç Pek, and our University's Disabled Student Unit Coordinator Lecturer Elif Görgülü participated in the meeting as speakers.
The meeting, organized to evaluate studies conducted in the field of accessibility and inclusion in higher education and to share examples of best practices, discussed activities supporting the participation of disabled students in academic and social life, practices implemented in education, teaching and examination processes, and opportunities for inter-institutional cooperation.

The program, which also addressed regulatory changes, evaluated ongoing practices and projects in the field of accessibility in physical spaces, education, and socio-cultural activities, strengthening the sharing of experiences. Furthermore, the importance of raising awareness in promoting the concept of an accessible university was emphasized.
