"July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day Commemoration Program" Held at Our University
A commemoration program for July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day was held at our university on July 14, 2026, in the university auditorium. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Yunus Ziya Arslan, our academic and administrative staff, and our students participated in the program.
The program began with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by the opening speech of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız.
In his speech, our Rector stated that one of the most important messages left to our nation by July 15th is the ability to unite in difficult times. He noted that our nation has overcome difficulties throughout history with a spirit of solidarity, and emphasized that on the night of July 15th, by uniting around common values, it took ownership of its future, and that this spirit of unity continues to be the greatest strength of our country.
Following the opening speech, a short documentary on "July 15th" was screened. The program continued with a panel discussion titled "July 15th: The Will is Ours, the Victory is Ours," organized with the participation of faculty members from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Moderated by Dr. Mustafa Berat Keskin, the panel featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Soytürk and Dr. M. Tacettin Kutay, who discussed and evaluated the social, historical, and political dimensions of July 15th from various perspectives.
The program concluded after these discussions.
