An Earthquake Drill was held in Our University in Collaboration with AFAD

In cooperation with the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), a building evacuation drill was held at our University on December 15, 2022.

In the drill, which started with the sound of a siren at 10:00 a.m., the staff and students in all buildings reduced the target as much as possible in the areas they were in until the siren sound stopped, moved to the "crash-trap-hold" position next to the items that would not be crushed and waited for the end of the siren, which represents the earthquake moment. Then, following the emergency exit direction signs in the building corridors, everybody went to the Emergency Assembly Areas determined on our campus and the buildings were evacuated.

After the evacuation of the buildings, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş and Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya Ferendeci and our Protection and Security Manager Tahsin Kılınç carefully observed the evacuation process and evaluated the measures that can be taken against the earthquake with the help of the drill.
