Earthquake Drill was Held at Turkish-German University in Cooperation with AFAD

Within the scope of the protocol signed between our university and Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), an earthquake building evacuation drill exercise was held on October 24, 2023. When the drill started at 10:00 with a siren, the staff and students in all buildings positioned themselves in the fetal position lying next to objects that would not be crushed, and waited for the siren sound, which represented the moment of the earthquake, to stop. Then, they were directed to the Emergency Assembly Areas on campus by following the emergency exit routes and the buildings were evacuated safely. After the evacuation of the buildings, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş and Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya Ferendeci, Secretary General Harun Ceylan reviewed the measures that can be taken against the earthquake and they evaluated the success of the exercise at the Crisis Desk.
