Opening Ceremony Held for the University’s Male and Female Student Dormitory

The opening ceremony of our University’s Male and Female Student Dormitory was held on February 9, 2026, on our campus. The dormitory building, which was implemented to meet students’ accommodation, social, and sporting needs, was officially opened with a ceremony and put into service.

The ceremony was attended by Istanbul Deputy Governor Hasan Gözen, Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, Istanbul Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Muhittin Özbay, Beykoz District Director of Youth Services and Sports Fatih Korkulu, Beykoz District Mufti Muhammet Likoğlu, as well as our academic and administrative staff and students.

In his opening speech, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız stated that they were holding the official opening ceremony of the new dormitory investment, which had been meticulously planned, and shared numerical data related to the project. He emphasized that the University’s Male and Female Student Dormitory would make significant contributions to students’ academic and social lives.

In his speech, our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay compared the capacity of the newly constructed dormitory building with those of other universities in Germany and Türkiye, noting that Turkish-German University stands out in this respect.

Istanbul Deputy Governor Hasan Gözen, in his remarks, expressed his best wishes for the new facility and thanked everyone who contributed to its realization.
Following the speeches, the opening ribbon was cut with the participation of protocol members. Afterwards, the dormitory building was toured and inspected.

During the visit, a certificate of appreciation and a gift were presented to our Kickboxing team, which successfully represented our University at the Türkiye Ünilig Kickboxing Championship.

The program concluded with refreshments served to the participants.
