Our Rector Participated in the 'University Journals Workshop' Organized by YÖK

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız attended the "University Journals: Problems and Solution Proposals Workshop" on 12 December 2022 under the chairmanship of Higher Education Council (YÖK) President Erol Özvar, where the current status of university journals was evaluated.

The opening speech of the workshop organized by the Council of Higher Education, attended by university and related institution representatives as well as faculty members and administrators who act as editors, was delivered by YÖK President Erol Özvar. Expressing his belief that the suggestions and results to be put forward on the occasion of the workshop will guide the decisions to be taken in this field, Chairman Özvar emphasized the necessity of increasing the quality of university journals and screening them in international indexes. Stating that Turkey is one of the countries that increased the number of documents the most, Ozvar, Chairman of YÖK, underlined their aim to raise university journals to the class of qualified journals that international researchers find prestigious to publish.

In the workshop, many comprehensive issues related to university journals, especially the current status of university journals, their publication quality, their screening in national-international indexes, their compliance with publication ethics, editorial issues, were discussed in three sessions, and current problems and solutions were discussed.
