Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız Reappointed as Rector of Turkish-German University

Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız has been reappointed as Rector of Turkish-German University by the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette No. 32962 on 23 July 2026.
Following his reappointment, Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız stated that he was honoured to continue serving the University in a new term by the decision of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In his statement, which outlined the University’s vision for the future and conveyed his appreciation to those who have supported the institution, Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız said:
“Turkish-German University has taken significant steps towards becoming a respected international centre of academic excellence by bringing together the well-established academic traditions of Türkiye and Germany. Delivering education at global standards, promoting innovative research and development, and advancing technological innovation will remain our highest priorities. This new term further strengthens the institutional responsibility we share with our academic and administrative staff, particularly in cooperation with DAAD, the TGU Consortium and our German partner institutions. I would like to thank all our colleagues and students whose dedication has contributed to the University’s continued success. I also extend my sincere gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for once again entrusting me with this responsibility, to the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, to the members of the Council of Higher Education, and to all our stakeholders for their continued support.”
