We hosted Beykoz Science High School as part of TAU-SEM/MEB Seminar Series.

On Thursday, May 11, 2023, an event was held at TGU for Beykoz Science High School students as part of the cooperation of TGU / Beykoz District Directorate of National Education.

90 students and three teachers of Beykoz Science High School and Zeynep Altıneş from the MEB Beykoz District Directorate attended the event organized by TAU-SEM (TGU Continuing Education Center) and contributed by the Press and Public Relations Department.

The event started with the opening speech of TGU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş. Prof. Dr. Uzuntaş stated that discovering their own talents and capacities is a very important step fort he students ant this will lead them to success. Prof. Dr. Uzuntaş underlined the importance of joint work of the District and University in her speech. 

After the Vice Rector's speech, TGU Press and Public Relations Department provided detailed information to the students about the characteristics of TGU and its education system, which is different from other state universities.

In the second part of the program, TGU Engineering Faculty, The Department of Electrical Engineering Member Dr. Naime Özben Önhon gave a seminar titled "Computer Vision". Dr. Önhon provided students with important information on image processing examples and applications, starting with the techniques used to obtain images. The seminar, which the students listened with interest, ended with great a question-answer session.

In the last part of the event, the three-story TGU Central Library, which was put into service in 2023, was visited. After the visit, where students were informed about the different aspects of university libraries and the methods of accessing data in these libraries, the event ended with a campus visit.
