2022 5th Internationalization and Consultation Meeting in Higher Education

The “5th Internationalization and Consultation Meeting in Higher Education” hosted by Istanbul University was held at Fuat Sezgin Congress Center on December 20, 2022. Deputy Chairman of Council of Higher Education (CoHE) Prof. Dr. Halim Haldun Göktaş, Rector of Istanbul University Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak, Rector of Turkish-German University Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız and a number of academicians in the field of international relations participated in the meeting.

Following the opening speech delivered by Istanbul University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak, Deputy Chairman of CoHE Prof. Dr. Halim Haldun Göktaş commenced his speech by stating that one of the primary goals of CoHE is internationalization. Highlighting that Turkey provides education services for more than 7 million students in more than 200 universities, Prof. Dr. Göktaş also indicated that 300 thousand international students from 191 countries receive education. Stating that internationalization in higher education will be realized primarily through accreditation, joint project and publication activities as well as the visibility of these steps, Prof. Dr. Göktaş addressed the need for universities to do their best concerning these issues and brought his speech to an end by expressing his wishes for a productive meeting.
