4th Carbon Footprint Calculation Training Held

The fourth ‘Corporate Carbon Footprint Calculation Training’ organized in collaboration with TAÜ-SEM and Allianz Teknik was held on September 25-26, 2025.
The certified training program, a joint project between TAÜ-SEM and Allianz Teknik, was delivered by Prof. Dr. Elif Nuroğlu from the Economics Department of the Turkish-German University, Nilay Çakır, Environmental Engineer at Allianz Teknik, and Simge Var, Environmental and Construction Engineer. The training, which included theoretical explanations on the Climate Crisis, ISO 14064 standard, EU Green Deal, Carbon Border Tax, and Emissions Trading System, supported by practical carbon footprint calculations, was held at the Allianz Teknik Earthquake & Fire Test and Training Center located within the Turkish-German University Campus.
The training, which lasted two days, targeted process leaders responsible for greenhouse gas and carbon footprint calculations, environmental engineers, company representatives, academics, and undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. At the end of the training, which served as an indicator of the Turkish-German University's work in the field of ‘Sustainability’, e-certificates were presented to the participants.
After clarifying fundamental topics and concepts in education such as greenhouse gases, ecological and carbon footprints, the training covers different greenhouse gas calculation methodologies and teaches how to calculate greenhouse gas quantities for facilities in accordance with the ISO 14064 standard. The training has been offered at regular intervals for two years.
