For the 84th anniversary of the departure of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our republic, for eternity, the "November 10th Commemoration Ceremony for Atatürk" was held by the Rectorate of our university.

The Commemoration Ceremony for Atatürk, which was performed with the participation of our academic and administrative staff as well as our students, started at 09.05 with a  one-minute silence and the National Anthem. It continued with the speech of our vice rector Prof. Aysel Uzuntaş. Prof. Uzuntaş emphasized the meaning and importance of the day in her speech. By citing the sayings of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, a great leader and the founder of our republic, such as “My humble body will surely become soil one day, but the Republic of Turkey will stand forever.” and “My spiritual heritage is knowledge and reason.”, Prof. Uzuntaş said, “We will continue to take our Republic further in the light of science; we will make great contributions in this way with our education and scientific studies at our university, and with our basic understanding of innovation and continuity in education and science.” The commemoration ceremony ended after Prof. Uzuntaş also said, “Together with the Turkish youth, to whom Atatürk entrusted his republic and spiritual heritage, we are commemorating Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with respect, gratitude and longing on the 84th anniversary of his departure. Everything starts with understanding first. ‘Seeing me is not necessarily seeing my face. If you understand and feel my ideas and my feelings, that is enough.' We understand and feel the ideas and feelings of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. May God bless his soul."
