Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız was a guest of Günaydın Hayat program broadcast on TRT Türk on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Rector Yıldız, who gave detailed information about the education processes of Turks living abroad, talked about how the migration mobility in education has undergone changes from the first generation to the present.

Explaining how the concepts of bilingualism and multiculturalism affect educational processes by giving examples from his academic studies as field research, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız stated that while there were adaptation problems related to language education at the beginning, problems arising from the conflict in terms of values and cultural characteristics of the education given in the family and the education given in the environment and schools are now seen in the last generation. Rector Yıldız said, “The third and fourth generations that have just grown up in Europe are very different from the children of the first generation that left in the 1960s and 70s. They grow up in an international multilingual and multicultural environment; they are trying to take advantage of the educational opportunities offered by that country”, emphasizing that the rate of university education of Turks living abroad is gradually increasing.

Rector Yıldız, who also mentioned the opportunities provided by our country in case students abroad want to study in Türkiye, stated that the faculty members of the Turkish-German University, a university established by Türkiye and Germany based on international agreements, mostly received education in Europe, in Germany in three languages. He emphasized that as an institution providing education, our university offers great opportunities. Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız concluded his words by saying, “We welcome all our young people who live abroad and want to study in Türkiye at our university.”
