Turkish-German University 7th Graduation Ceremony Held

Turkish-German University (TGU) 2022-2023 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony was performed on Friday, 7th July 2023 with the participation of our Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız, Prof. Bekir Sami Yılbaş, Rector of Turkish-Japanese Science and Technology University and Vice Rectors: Prof. Hisakazu Mihara, Prof. Ahmet Şahin, as well as Turkish-German University Vice Rectors Prof. Aysel Uzuntaş, Prof. Hamide Ozden Ozkaya Ferendeci, Prof. Ali Gökhan Yavuz, faculty deans and faculty members, graduate students and their relatives.

After one-minute silence for our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, together with all our martyrs and singing the Turkish National Anthem, out Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız made the opening speech. Prof. Yıldız addressed our newly graduated students by saying: “As Turkish-German University Graduates, you are equipped not only with technical expertise, but also with critical thinking skills, adaptability and intercultural competencies. These qualifications enable you to overcome the challenges of our time and make a meaningful impact in the fields you choose. Moreover, the multilingual and transformative education experience offered to you makes you a candidate for becoming a global citizen and a representative of global change. As you move on to the next stage of your journey, remember that your education is not only for personal gain, but also for the good of society.”

After our rector, TGU General Coordinator Prof. Ferit Küçükay addressed our newly graduated students and said, “Dear graduates, with your diploma from TGU and your professional, social and multilingual skills and skills, you now have the best conditions to provide outstanding services to the economy and society as an expert or manager in the future. With your skills, you are in a position to deepen Turkish-German bilateral relations and further strengthen the bridge between these two countries.”

Prof. Müge Klein from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, who was invited to the podium to speak on behalf of all academic and administrative staff of our university, said, “Graduation is the end of something, but it is also a new beginning. With the valuable gains you have made here, I am sure that you will start the new period in your life in the best prepared way. I believe that you will be successful not only in Turkey but also all over the world with the universal knowledge and skills you have acquired at Turkish-German University.”

Lastly, Doğa Ceylan, who graduated from the Faculty of Law as having the first rank in university, delivered her speech. Ceylan, who started her speech by stating that she is aware that today is not the end, said, "First of all, I would like to thank our invaluable professors who are always there for us, both personally and academically, for everything that both the law faculty and Turkish-German University have contributed to me and pushed me to become better." After her speech, Ceylan was presented with a plaque and a gift by our Rector Prof. Yıldız.

The ceremonies, in which the students from the Faculties of Engineering, Science, Culture and Communication Sciences, Law and Economics and Administrative Sciences experienced the enthusiasm of graduation, ended after the presentation of the congratulatory certificates, the cap throwing and group photo shoot.
