Turkish-German University Has Begun Disaster Awareness Training

In order to prepare our university staff for a variety of disasters such as fire, earthquakes, and floods, and to raise awareness of how to take action in the event of an emergency, the first of the Disaster Awareness Training Sessions, which was organized by our Rectorate in cooperation with the Istanbul Governorship Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate, was held in the conference hall at the Building of Classrooms, Block A on November 28, 2022. 

Our Rector, Prof. Cemal Yildiz, made the opening speech of the Disaster Awareness Training, which was given to the staff of Turkish-German University between 28.11.2022 and 09.12.2022. After our rector’ s speech in which he reminded the participants that Turkey is in an earthquake zone and we should be prepared for the bad situations we may encounter, Ebru Sözer, one of the trainers of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency, started the Disaster Awareness Training. Ms. Sözer gave detailed information to the participants about the precautions to be taken concerning disasters and emergencies, especially earthquakes, floods and fires. Disaster Awareness Training ended with the drop-cover-hold on exercise.
