Fourth Annual Business Conference: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Held

The conference titled "Fourth Annual Business Conference: Diversity, Equality and Inclusion", sponsored by Siemens and DAAD, was held in the SFL Conference Hall on November 10, 2023, in cooperation with our University and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts. On the occasion of November 10, Atatürk Commemoration Day, by touching on the meaning and importance of the day, Our Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız, who made the opening speech of the program, carried out evaluations about the concepts of "Diversity, equality and inclusion", which is the theme of this year's conference. Prof. Yıldız said "Companies known to value diversity, equity and inclusion in their workplace culture generally have a stronger employer brand. A strong employer brand contributes to a company's overall reputation in the industry, increasing customer loyalty and trust." and he completed his speech by saying  "As Turkish-German University, we emphasize the importance we attach to University-industry/sector cooperation at every opportunity and make great efforts for the unity of theory and practice in the events we organize. In this sense, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the realization of this conference, organized with the contributions of Turkish-German University, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts, DAAD and Siemens Turkey. I wish all participants a productive conference."

After Our Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız's opening speech, Prof. Ela Sibel Bayrak Meydanoğlu, who is the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at our university, Prof. Rıza Öztürk, the dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and Siemens Türkiye Chairman and CEO Dr. Hüseyin Gelis gave their speeches. Bringing together academics and practitioners from different disciplines, the conference, which attracted great attention, continued throughout the day in three sessions where diversity, equality and participation in the business environment were discussed from different perspectives.
