Certificate Ceremony for Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language
Students who successfully completed the Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Certificate Program (Training of Trainers) organized within the scope of TAU-SEM received their certificates at a ceremony.

Presidential Foreign Policy and Security Advisor Ambassador Akif Çağatay Kılıç, who is conducting lectures this semester in our University's Department of Political Science and International Relations, visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız in his office prior to his last lecture. During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on our University's international collaborations, academic activities and strategic goals. The visit ended with a photo shoot.
Our Sports Teams Achieve Notable Results at the Turkish Championships
Our university’s sports teams proudly represented our institution by competing in various categories at the Turkish Championships organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation.

April 23rd Excitement from Our University Child Care Center
April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day was celebrated on our campus by the teachers and students of our University Child Care Center on April 22, 2025. The celebration programme, attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, commenced with a ceremony in front of the Atatürk bust. After a moment of silence and the National Anthem, performances of the young students were greatly appreciated. Following the ceremony, the celebrations continued in the event area on our campus. In this special event organized in accordance with the meaning and importance of April 23rd, children experienced the joy of the holiday to the fullest.
Our University was Represented at the High Level in the EURIE 2025 Closing Session
One of the prominent meetings of Eurasia in the field of higher education, EURIE 2025 – Eurasia Higher Education Summit was held in Istanbul between April 8-10, 2025. The closing general session of the event was organized with the theme of “Current Status and Future of Turkish-German Academic Relations”. Our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, DAAD Secretary General Dr. Kai Sicks and our academicians attended the programme.

The ‘Turkish-German Media Forum’, organized by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Directorate of Communications on April 9, 2025, was an important event aimed at increasing cooperation and cultural interaction in the field of media with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations Prof. Dr. Enes Bayraklı and Department of Culture and Communication Sciences Faculty Member Dr. Büşra Fadim Sarıkaya Tünalp.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız visited the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Berlin Gökhan Turan in his office on April 4, 2025. During the visit, our Rector informed Ambassador Turan about the multilingual and multicultural structure of our University and ongoing studies within the framework of its international vision. Additionally, views were exchanged on likely collaborations and activities.

Our University Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız visited the Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu in his office on March 25, 2025. During the visit, studies and likely cooperation opportunities with our University and the Ministry of Health were discussed. Our Rector thanked Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu for his hospitality. The visit was finalised after a photo was taken.
Visit from Balıkesir University President to Our Rector
Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu visited our University Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız in his office on March 17, 2025. During the visit, there was an exchange of views on likely collaborations and joint projects between the two universities. The visit finalised following the campus tour.
Chief Advisor to the President Akif Çağatay Kılıç was a Guest in the Opening Lecture of our Political Science and International Relations Department
Ambassador Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security, met with the students of the Political Science and International Relations Department of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of our University on February 28, 2025. The 2024-2025 Academic Year Spring Semester Opening Lecture entitled “The Future of Turkey-Germany Relations in the Age of Uncertainty” was held in the YDYO Conference Hall with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, Head of the Political Science and International Relations Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Enes Bayraklı, our academicians as well as students.
Cooperation Protocol Signed Between the International University of Sarajevo and Our University
On February 7, 2025, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International University of Sarajevo Prof. Dr. Sevgi Kurtulmuş and the Chairman of the Sarajevo Education Development Foundation Hasan Topaloğlu paid a visit to our University and met our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay and our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş. During the ceremony held as part of the visit, a protocol was signed to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities. Throughout the ceremony, joint projects and possible future collaborations were evaluated.

Organized in cooperation with TAU-SEM and Allianz Teknik, 'Application Based Corporate Carbon Footprint Calculation Training' was held on 26-27 December 2024.
Courtroom Inaugurated at the Faculty of Law
The Faculty of Law at our university inaugurated its new courtroom, located in the Social Sciences Building, with a ceremony held on December 11, 2024. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız; Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya Ferendeci, and Prof. Dr. Ali Gökhan Yavuz; as well as faculty members, administrative staff, and students took part in this event.
Academic Gowning Ceremony Held to Present Our Faculty Members' New Academic Titles
An Academic Gowning Ceremony was held on December 11, 2024 to celebrate the promotion of several faculty members at our university. The honourees included Murat Hamderi from the Faculty of Engineering, who received the title of Professor; Ahmet Onur Pehlivan, who was promoted to Associate Professor; and Mustafa Erkam Özateş, Merve Teke Budaklı, and Erdem Onur Özyurt, who were appointed as Assistant Professors. From the Faculty of Law, Anıl Köroğlu and Murat Sarıkaya received the title of Associate Professor. Additionally, Mehmet Soytürk and Sevgin Batuk Ünlü from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences were promoted to Associate Professor.

The international conference titled “Navigating Complexity And Change In The Balkans”, hosted by the Turkish-German University in Istanbul on 5-6 December 2024, brought together prominent figures from the academic world.

The meeting, organized to strengthen faculty operations and facilitate mutual exchange of information, addressed topics such as enhancing academic performance and the University's objectives in this regard.
Conference on “Navigating the Complex and Evolving Structure of the Balkans” Commences with Opening Ceremony
The international conference entitled “Navigating the Complex and Evolving Structure of the Balkans”, organized in collaboration with our university, Ibn Haldun University, and Tirana New York University, initiated with an opening program held on December 5, 2024. The event was attended by Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey; our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız; the Rector of Ibn Haldun University, Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan; and the Rector of Tirana New York University, Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş. Hosted by our university, the conference will continue on December 5-6, 2024, bringing together academics and experts from both domestic and international spheres to provide participants with an in-depth analysis of the transformation processes in the Balkans.
