A ceremony was held for the deanship handover at our University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The event took place on September 16, 2024, with the participation of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, General Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, and Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş and Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya Ferendeci.During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ela Sibel Bayrak Meydanoğlu handed over the role of dean to Prof. Dr. Elif Nuroğlu.
Earthquake Early Warning System Meeting Held at Our University
On August 28, 2024, our University held the “3rd Regular Academic Advisory and Consultation Board Meeting organized within the scope of the Project for Establishing Earthquake Early Warning Systems in Turkey and Providing Signals to Citizens” with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız. Our Rector noted in the meeting that it was a source of pride for our University to host such significant projects and underlined the support they provide for scientific collaborations and earthquake safety projects. Furthermore, he stated that our University’s research infrastructure is always ready to support the project.

The dean’s handover ceremony at the Faculty of Law of our university was held on 28 August 2024 with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız. Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Yıldız handed over the deanship to Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya Ferendeci at the ceremony.
Our TAUV Team is in the Final at TEKNOFEST 2024!
TAUV Team within the Robotics Club of our university has achieved an important success TEKNOFEST 2024. Our team, which successfully passed the Critical Design Report and Mission Video stages of the Unmanned Underwater Systems Advanced Category Competition, qualified to participate in the final competitions to be held in Mersin between 17-20 September 2024.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız met with our new students at the registration office which was established by the Department of Student Affairs, the Department of Health, Culture and Sports and the Department of Information Technologies. In the meeting, which was also attended by our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş and Prof. Dr. Ali Gökhan Yavuz, our Rector welcomed our students who took their first steps into higher education by personally performing their first registration procedures. Immortalizing this meaningful moment by chatting with our students and pinning badges, our Rector wished our new students success in their academic lives. This sincere welcome of our Rector and senior management was welcomed with great satisfaction by our students.

A Protocol was signed between our University and Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Social Security
The protocol covering the cooperation between our University and Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Social Security in the activities to be carried out for pensioners within the scope of "2024 Year of Pensioners" was signed by Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, Rector of our University, and Harun Sertbaş, Provincial Director of SGK. The protocol, which was held with the participation of our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya Ferendeci and SGK Provincial Deputy Directors Hulusi Yiğit, Sinan Akpınar and Beykoz SGK Manager Ferda Özkalender, includes issues such as opening training programmes for pensioners, symposiums, workshops, meetings to be held in cooperation and announcing the privileges to be provided to pensioners."

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız met with our students who were champions in swimming, basketball and chess tournaments. The visit which was hosted by our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş was attended by Elifsu Özgül and Nehir Aksünger, athletes of our University Swimming Team; Naz Bekiroğlu, Mihrişah Beyza Öz, Elif Sena Gül, Ela İlkyaz Erdoğdu, Cansu Karataş, Rüzgar Tanju, Melike Mengi, Deniz Sözütok, Nejla Yeter, athletes of our University Women's Basketball Team; Sude Hereklioğlu, our University Chess Team and Chess National Team athlete. Our Rector congratulated our successful students, chatted with them and expressed his satisfaction with their success. After the presentation of medals and gifts, a dinner was organised with our champion students to celebrate their success.
3x3 Basketball Tournament Held at Our University
"3x3 Basketball Tournament" was held by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports at our university on 5-6 June 2024. A total of 26 teams competed in the men's and women's categories in the tournament, which was held for the first time. The tournament, which witnessed many intense matches, allowed the students of our university to meet with sports. The 3rd place and final matches which were also watched by our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, The Kobe team completed the tournament as champions in the men's category. While the Panziler team finished the tournament in second place, the And One team managed to take third place. In the women's category, Çifteçınarlar SK team came first, Winpar team came second and Berlin Princesses finished the tournament in third place. At the award ceremony held with the participation of Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay and our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, medals and trophies were presented to the winning teams.
Turkish - German University Members 2024 Football Tournament was Held
Turkish – German University Members 2024 Football Tournament, which was organized by the Department of Health Culture and Sports, was held between 6 May-6 June 2024. The champion of the tournament, in which 10 teams competed, was determined with the match played between the Student Affairs Department and Administrative and Financial Affairs Department. The Administrative and Financial Affairs Department team won 3-1 and became the champion of the tournament. The Student Affairs Department team took second place in the tournament. The match for the third and fourth places in the tournament ended 2-2 between the School of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. As a result of the series penalty shoot-out, the third place of the tournament went to the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. After the matches, a prize-giving ceremony was held with the participation of our Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız, our General Coordinator Prof. Ferit Küçükay and our Vice Rector Prof. Aysel Uzuntaş. Our Rector congratulated the winning teams and presented them with cups and medals.
Our University's Achievements in Sports Continue to Increase
Our Women's Basketball Team, which competes in the Turkish University Sports Federation (TUSF) Basketball Istanbul Women's 2nd League, completed the 2023-2024 season as champion. Our Women's Basketball Team, which clinched our university's recently increasing success in sports as a champion, won all 6 games played between 18 April - 28 May 2024. Our champion team received the championship trophy with a ceremony held at Boğaziçi University on Tuesday 4 June 2024. Our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, who attended the ceremony, congratulated our Champion Women's Basketball Team and wished them continued success.
“Workshop on Teaching Turkish to International Bilinguals” was held at our University
"Workshop on Teaching Turkish to International Bilinguals" was organized on 22-23 May 2024, hosted by our University in cooperation with our University and the Turkish Maarif Foundation, in order to evaluate the processes of teaching Turkish to bilinguals in Europe in various aspects and to share the results with the relevant institutions and the public. Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, Director General for European Union and Foreign Relations at the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) Tuba Korkmaz, President of the Turkish Maarif Foundation Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, representatives of relevant institutions such as the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Language Association, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, academicians, education consultants and field experts attended at the workshop.
